Physiotherapists
All our physiotherapists are chartered and fully registered with the Health Professions Council and between them have a wide variety of training and work experience. Building on this, the clinic specialises in the treatment of sports injuries, neck and back pain. Treatments include manual and exercise therapy, manipulation, mobilisation, massage, electrotherapy and acupuncture
Kim Baxter
Kim qualified as
a Physiotherapist from Sheffield Hallam University in 1998 and
completed an MSc in Physiotherapy at Nottingham University in 2006,
specialising in manual therapy, rehabilitation of musculo-skeletal
problems and sports medicine.
Kim is Physiotherapist for the British Orienteering team and, working closely with relevent specialists, is responsible for building long term strength and conditioning programmes to minimise injury and maximise training results. She provides physiotherapy treatment on training camps and at international competitions In 2002 and 2003, Kim provided physiotherapy support to the England Women's Cricket Team during their UK summer tour and the winter Ashes tour to Australia and New Zealand.
An active runner, mountain biker and orienteer, Kim competed internationally at Orienteering gaining 4th place in the World Championships in 1999.
Fionne Lynch
Fionne
qualified as a
Physiotherapist in 2001 and has since worked in practices in
Christchurch, New Zealand, and York.
She joined Kim Baxter and Associates in 2007. She has been
Physiotherapist to the Irish Orienteering
Team at the World Championships and continues to act as a Consultant
Physiotherapist for the Irish Squad.
Fionne has been Irish Relay Orienteering Champion several times and competed for Ireland both as a junior and senior, gaining a full senior cap at the World Championships in 2003.
Fionne is currently on Maternity Leave
Dave Sprot
Dave qualified as a Physiotherapist from Sheffield Hallam
University in 2006 and has worked with Kim Baxter and Associates since
then. He is a Senior Physiotherapist in musculo-skeletal injuries at
Chesterfield
Royal Hospital and is currently doing a Masters in Advancing
Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. He has worked as Physiotherapist with
both British Orienteering and at an International Volleyball Olympic
test series event and is one of the official
physiotherapists supporting the 2012 Track Cycling World Cup.
Dave represented England at Orienteering and has more recently moved to athletics, competing for Hallamshire Harriers on the track and in cross country, where he is the Club Captain. Personal bests include 1:58.55 for 800m and a win at the Sheffield Hallam 5k Park Run in August 2011.
